Welcome to the UB family! We know that this is an exciting time for your student and for you and that you must have numerous questions and concerns. Knowing where to turn when help is needed is important.
At UB, we view our relationship with you and your student as a three-way partnership encompassing students, families, and the university. Through this partnership, we seek to create the optimal support system for every student. Our partnership will begin at Parent & Family Orientation where you will gain helpful information to support your student, especially during the critical first year.
During each First-year and Transfer Student Orientation, there is a corresponding Parent & Family Orientation.
As a parent or family member of a new student, you play a vital role in your student's transition to the University at Buffalo. As you meet caring professionals who will work with your student, UB will become more than bricks and mortar; it will become a network. Parent & Family Orientation will help you understand the academic and social environment at UB and will familiarize you with the many resources and support services that are available to you and your student. Please Note: The Parent & Family Orientation Program is appropriate for family members ages 16 and up.
Students select their orientation date(s) when they complete their Orientation Data Form. If your student is attending the CADS Summer Program, your Parent & Family Orientation will be July 25-26, 2013.
