For Students Entering Spring 2017

After completing and submitting your orientation data form and submitting your immunization records, utilize the chart below to understand the specific course registration process for your intended major/academic advising unit.

College Code Process/Timeline for First-Year Students Process/Timeline for Transfer Students
AED Beginning December 1, AED advisors will send students their class schedule via email within one month of receiving orientation data form.
ATH Your academic advisor will contact you within one week of receiving your orientation data form to set up a phone or in-person advising appointment.
BMS Beginning in November, BMS advisors will email students within two weeks of receiving orientation data form. Once immunization records are received, students will be emailed again with course registration instructions. BMS advisors will email students within two weeks of receiving orientation data form, instructing them to set up an advising appointment.
CAS Beginning in November, CAS advisors will send students a letter or email within one week of receiving orientation data form, instructing them to submit immunization records and call CAS advising at 716-645-6883 to schedule an advising appointment.
EOP Not applicable. Beginning in December, EOP advisors will call or email students within one week of receiving orientation data form to arrange a phone or in-person advising appointment.
MG Beginning in December, MG advisors will partially register students for classes (based on Math and English placement) and will email and/or mail schedules home within 3 weeks of receiving the orientation data form. Students are then expected to finalize their schedules by adding their UB seminar within five days of receiving this schedule. MG advisors will call students within one week of receiving orientation data form to gather additional information and alert them to check email for detailed instructions, including specific courses to add and information on how to register at UB. Students are then expected to register themselves for the courses.
NUR Beginning in mid-November, NUR advisors register students for classes based on information provided on the orientation data form, then email students their schedule. Beginning in mid-November, NUR advisors email students within 10 business days of receiving orientation data form, with instructions to call 716-829-2537 to schedule a phone/in-person advising appointment.
PHHP Beginning in November, PHHP advisors will utilize the orientation data form to register first-year students into appropriate classes. Within two weeks, students will then be contacted by email to schedule their own UB seminar and review their schedule. PHHP staff will call and email students within two weeks of receiving orientation data form to schedule an advising appointment. During this appointment, PHHP advisors will discuss transfer credit and an academic plan will be created. The plan will be emailed to the student so that they may register themselves appropriately.
SAS Beginning November 15, SAS advisors will call or email students within one week of receiving the orientation data form instructing them to call 716-645-6013 to schedule a phone or in-person advising appointment.
SEASAPP/CSEAPP
SEASINT/CSEINT
Beginning in mid-November, SEASAPP/CSEAPP and SEASINT/CSEINT advisors will call or email students within two weeks of receiving the orientation data form to discuss classes. Beginning in mid-November, SEASAPP/CSEAPP and SEASINT/CSEINT advisors will call or email students within two weeks of receiving the orientation data form to set up a phone/in-person advising appointment.
SPPS Beginning in mid-November, SPPS advisors will register students for classes and then email students their schedule within one week of receiving the orientation data form. SPPS advisors call students within one week after receiving the orientation data form to schedule a phone/in-person appointment.
