After completing and submitting your orientation data form and submitting your immunization records, utilize the chart below to understand the specific course registration process for your intended major/academic advising unit.

Please respond promptly to all communications from your academic advisor via UB email and phone. For assistance accessing your UB email, follow the steps at Getting Started with UBIT. Please make sure your voicemail is set up to receive phone messages.

ACE
Access to College Excellence Program
Beginning May 23, ACE advisors will send students a welcome letter within one week of receiving orientation data form with instructions to call 716-645-7301 to schedule a phone/in-person advising appointment. Not applicable.
ACK
Daniel Acker Scholars Program
Beginning May 23, advisors will send students a welcome letter within one week of receiving orientation data form with instructions to call 716-645-7301 to schedule a phone/in-person advising appointment. Not applicable.
AED
School of Architecture and Planning
Beginning June 1, AED advisors will enroll students for classes based upon Math and English placement, and mail students their class schedules within three weeks of receiving both the orientation data form and complete immunization records. Beginning June 1, AED advisors will enroll students for classes (based upon previous college coursework and design studio/workshop placement) and mail students their class schedules within three weeks of receiving orientation data form and complete immunization records.
ATH
Athletics
If you are a student athlete currently undecided in your major, you will be advised by the Office of Athlete Academic and Student Excellence. Your academic advisor will contact you within one week of receiving your orientation data form to set up a phone or in-person advising appointment.
CAS
College of Arts and Sciences
Beginning in April, CAS advisors will send students a letter within one week of receiving orientation data form, instructing them to submit immunization records and call CAS advising at 716-645-6883 to schedule an advising appointment.
EOP
Educational Opportunity Program
Beginning May 2, EOP advisors will call or email students within one week of receiving the orientation data form to arrange a phone or in-person counseling appointment.
EPAC
Exploratory and Pre-Professional Advising Center
Beginning in early May, EPAC advisors will contact students within two weeks of receiving the orientation data form instructing them to call 716-645-6013 to schedule a phone or in-person advising appointment.
HON
University Honors College
If you are a student in the Honors College, you will be advised by the Honors College instead of your major’s advising code. Beginning in early May, the Honors College will email students the name of their advisor and instructions to schedule a phone appointment. Not applicable.
JSMBS
Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
Beginning in May, BMS advisors will email students within 5 business days of receiving their orientation data form to confirm receipt. Once immunization records are received, students will be emailed again with course registration instructions. BMS advisors will email students within one week of receiving orientation data form, instructing them to set up an advising appointment.
MG
School of Management
Beginning in late May, within one week of submitting the orientation data form and immunization records, MG advisors will partially register students for classes (based on Math and English placement, SAT or ACT scores, AP or IB courses, and college credit course reported on the orientation data form) and will email students with additional instructions to review their schedule and add a seminar course. Students are expected to finalize their schedules within five days of receiving this partial schedule. MG advisors will call students within one week of receiving orientation data form to gather additional information and alert them to check email for detailed instructions including specific courses to add and information on how to register at UB. Students are then expected to register themselves for the courses.
NUR
School of Nursing
Beginning in late May, NUR advisors register students for most of their classes within 10 business days of receiving the orientation data form. The advisor will then email students their schedule along with directions instructing them to choose a UB Seminar that fits with the courses for which they have been registered. Beginning in mid-April, NUR advisors email students within 10 business days of receiving orientation data form, with instructions to call 716-829-2537 to schedule a phone/in-person advising appointment.
SEASBE, SEASCE, SEASCIEENV, SEASCSCEN, SEASEAS, SEASEEGP, SEASIE, SEASMEASE
School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Beginning mid-May, advisors will email students their course schedule information after receiving the orientation data form and immunization records. Recent submissions may take up to 3 weeks to process. Beginning in mid-May, the SEAS office will call or email students within 8 business days of receiving the orientation data form to set up a phone/in-person advising appointment.
SPHHP
School of Public Health and Health Professions
Beginning in early May, the PHHP office will register students for courses within two weeks of receiving their orientation data form. The student will then be emailed to review their schedule in HUB. Beginning in early May, the PHHP office will call and email students within two weeks of receiving the orientation data form to schedule an appointment to discuss course registration.
SPPS
School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
Beginning in May, SPPS advisors will partially register students who have submitted immunization records for classes based on Math and English placement within 10 days of receiving the orientation data form. Students will be contacted via email and expected to finalize their schedules within 5 days. SPPS advisors call students within 10 business days after receiving the orientation data form to schedule a phone/in-person appointment.
SSBP
Success Summer Bridge Program
If your college code is SSBP, an academic advisor from the college or department of your major will help you register for classes. Please refer to the process and timeline in the appropriate row of this chart. Not applicable.
